Roz’s Half & Half Cookies
Ingredients
- ¼ lb butter
- 4 tbsp butter, divided
- ¼ lb margarine
- 1 package Philadelphia cream cheese (3 oz)
- 1 cup sugar
- 2¼ cups flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 package chocolate chips
Instructions
- Allow cream cheese and butter to soften. Cream butter and sugar. Add flour, cream cheese, and vanilla. Kneed until well mixed. Separate dough into equal halves. Put half in refrigerator while working on the other half. Take half of dough and roll out into a rectangular shape between two lengths of waxed paper. Melt half of chocolate chips with 2 tablespoons butter. Carefully spread chocolate mixture immediately over the dough. Roll up tightly and refrigerate at least two hours. Repeat with second half of dough.
- Preheat oven to 350° F. Slice dough as thinly as possible and bake on ungreased cookie sheets for 12 minutes. Cool cookies on sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks. Cook completely.
